This book had many great examples of personification such as ‘All around us, Kudzu lifted and fell in the breeze, sighing as if it were a living, breathing creature, a shape changer.’ I also noticed a lot of metaphors, for example, ‘the kudzu was now a monster, now an ogre, now a long armed witch.’ I thought this book had fantastic use of figurative language, every step the boys took felt like one of my own.
